ACCESS STATEMENT:
The tennis courts can be accessed via a gently sloping tarmac pathway from the car park. There are no steps to access the courts. The car park has 3 disabled parking spaces located within 15 metres of the tennis courts’ entrance gate.
The tennis courts’ entrance gates can be easily opened to allow wheelchair access. When in the club, all the courts can be easily accessed by wheelchair. Access to the pavilion is via double doors which can be opened to allow wheelchair entrance. The pavilion is spacious and flat with no stairs. There is a disabled toilet that can accommodate a wheelchair.
The kitchen area and appliances within it can also be easily accessed by a wheelchair user.
The tennis club needs to review the facility to understand the requirements for people with sensory issues and update these accordingly. The club also needs to review the signage on the court entrance and within the pavilion.
